We were actually upgraded to this bigger cottage Momella and it was just amazing. It was the perfect mix of style, uniqueness, space and comfort. The South African touches were so well thought out and made it special. Our children loved the garden and space. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped for self catering. Marleen and Robby were so warm, friendly and welcoming. Their grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed wandering around. Our children loved being able to feed the chickens and guinea fowls and collecting eggs too!

Me and my wife have just enjoyed 6 wonderful nights at Kimaro farmhouse (birthday treat!)..Should I mention how good it is?...Don't want too many people to go! The safari tents are literally brand new, super comfy beds...wonderfully appointed and huge! Marleen and Robby have done a wonderful job creating a little slice of the Serengeti in deepest France! Where to start?! We have had the most fantastic time in your little Eden. We probably looked at 100 properties but Kimaro Farmhouse stood out from all the others and has definitely not disappointed! The cottage is exactly what it says on the website! Beautiful, rustic and with its own soul. The attention to detail you have both put in here and all around the farm has not gone unnoticed. You have put both heart and soul into all that you have done here and it shows!
You have both been great hosts, knowing exactly when to be here when we have needed help and when to give us privacy. This is a skill and not many people would be able to get the balance right.
Kimaro farmhouse and yourselves have been a great inspiration to our family in the past week and has given us plenty food for thought! As a first family holiday we couldn´t have asked for more and would love to come back as we cannot wait to see all the other special plans you both have coming up in the future. Marleen is utterly adorable, her enthusiasm and love for their farm is infectious. The safari tents are luxurious, especially the large tented double bed and the rather glamorous bath (for two). Marleen is a fabulous cook, our meal was memorable and my children were tempted to lick the remaining drops of courgette soup from their bowls. She hosts dinners in the barn for anyone who is interested at one big, communal table when the weather is fine.

Especially as a host myself, I really appreciate how much effort, love and passion is behind this dream place. She is a perceptive and warm host and a great cook - I hope to experience her outdoor kitchen in the summer, some day. The place is a ++ from concept to comfort, and wonderful little details overall. They really have taken the time and effort to think of what makes guests feel good - thank you. We came to recoup for a few days and we really did. The surroundings are just perfect, the beautiful stars at night backed up by a concert from the nightingale, what a dream. It is hard to sum everything up in this space, so I would recommend that you go see this yourself, you will only be more impressed and feel even better, thanks to you Marleen and Robby. I would give these two hosts 6 stars if I could.

Very special location. Spacious, luxury safari tents in peaceful Burgundy. Set up by Dutch/Belgian couple who met each other in Africa. Now they are offering luxury and peace of mind in French nature. The tents have a kitchen, a bath overlooking the fields, master bed, bunk beds - and beds in a little built-in house, a space on the ground floor to play for toddlers, and the top floor to sleep. Their own original design. Breakfast and dinner upon request served at the tent, recommended!

We had the most fantastic stay here. The tents are stunning – luxury in the most peaceful of locations. If you need to unwind then this is the place to go to. Everything has been thought of – from the roll top bath to the well equipped kitchen. The owners are lovely and very helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return ourselves. Suitable for couples and families.

We've just had a fabulous 4 day stay at Kimaro Farmhouse. Marleen & Robby couldn't have made us feel more welcome and our boys just loved being given free reign to go and check on the chickens for fresh eggs, rowing on the lake and just running round the fields around the tents. The tents themselves are incredible and have everything you need - we took a lot of our own food too, but Marleen cooked us a couple of amazing dinners, and their breakfast hamper and Sunday brunch are both excellent too.
The location is so peaceful but there is plenty to do within about a 30 - 40min drive or so. We visited Sancerre, Cyclorail, Guédelon castle and did tree climbing at Bois de la Folie (worth doing on same day as Guédelon as both are on the same road) all of which are worth a visit.

Sometimes Airbnb is a convenient and affordable alternative to a hotel, other times it opens entirely new doors that maybe unique and almost magical experiences (that are also affordable!). Such is the case with Kimaro Farmhouse. To be able to be in an amazingly quiet and beautiful spot in Burgundy, with such lovely hosts, is something that has made Airbnb special.
The farm cottage is everything you would hope for. A great fireplace in the living room, fully equipped kitchen, lovely shower, and a comfortable bed. The grounds are lovely and lush. We saw deer in the neighborhood almost every night. And the location is ideal for some low-key tasting of Loire valley wines, exploring quaint villages, and enjoying traditional Burgundy cuisine. Marleen and Robby are the consummate hosts. More than that, they are interesting people and we thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them (Robby is an excellent photographer and Marleen worked in Tanzania in a Safari Lodge before moving to Burgundy) and they offered knowledgeable advice about local excursions. We are very thankful for our time in Colméry!”

Marleen and Robby were fantastic hosts. My friends and I had a great time staying at their farmhouse in Burgundy. They have an incredible property in the middle of very beautiful Burgundy countryside. The farmhouse is very nice! The kitchen is very well appointed - we cooked almost every meal during our four night stay. Everything is very neat and well put together, and looks just as it does in the photos. They have thought of every detail, which made our stay very comfortable. We also liked that they'd put together a huge book of pamphlets for nearby attractions (of which there are many) that goes along with a colour-coded map. Marleen and Robby were incredibly welcoming and helpful hosts.

A really lovely and special place in the quiet French countryside. You can tell that lot of care has gone into making the cottage a real gem - all the little details were perfect and it was full of its own unique character. Marleen and Robby were both incredibly friendly, helpful and kind. Some beautiful towns to visit in the area and countryside to explore - we had a peaceful and relaxing time so thank you.
